Parent Questionnaire/Child Information Sheet

Upon enrolment Parent will be asked to fill in a Parent Questionnaire and a Child Information Sheet. Staff use this source of information when programming and planning activities for the children. Qualified Carers will also ensure that Child Information Sheets are attached to the child's developmental checklists, and are updated regularly.

Goals

At Rossi Child Care Centre, we have educated and experienced staff who are always working towards providing a high quality beginning to every child's education. Programmes are structured to provide for the following areas of development:

Physical Music & Movement
Cognitive Art & Craft
Language Dramatic Play
Social Emotional Manipulative & Construction

Programme Evaluation

A programme evaluation is carried out every week to determine strengths and weaknesses in activities. Parents and children are encouraged to participate in the evaluation of the programmes. Staff complete an evaluation sheet with the children at the end of each week. Evaluation sheets are attached to the newsletter and are issued monthly to the parents.

The following activities are part of our Daily Routine:
Body Gym - To encourage and promote the development of gross motor skills
Craft Time - A minimum of three craft activities are planned for each day
Mat Time - Is a time for coming together as a group and to bond
Music - Allows a chance for alternative self-expression through singing, music, movement and dance
Italian - Aimed primarily at older children, our centre goal for our Italian programme is to encourage the children to become aware of the larger world around them.
Story Time - As a centre we don't underestimate the importance of written text as part of children's pre-reading and writing experience.

Children with Special Needs

At Rossi Child Care Centre we believe that every child is unique, with individual strengths and competencies. We cater for and provide opportunities for participation in childhood activities, with peers, which is a right for all children. We desire to utilise resources to their maximum potential and welcome information from Parents and Specialised carers as well as training to upgrade our knowledge. We believe that parents are parents first, and then the parents of a child with special needs.
